TEFL Accreditation

Our 120-hour course has been approved and is accredited by TEFL International (TI). This widely known organisation, registered in the United States with a moderation board in the United Kingdom, has a presence in 20 countries and offered at 30 centres worldwide.  It is the second largest TEFL/TESOL network in the ESL world. The curriculum and training in all centres has been validated and receives annual moderation from Fort Hays State University in the United States.

The TEFL course follows an approved curriculum, covering basic teaching fundamentals, grammar, methodology, language awareness and testing assessment. In particular, the necessary minimum six classroom practicums are a compulsory element of this university credit-bearing certification. Each course is monitored on a monthly basis remotely by TI moderators in the UK.

The diploma certificates and degrees which we facilitate are independently administered online by the Philippine Women’s University and New Era University, under the authorisation of the Philippines Government’s Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

Our TEFL course moderator

Who or what is TEFL?

Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) refers loosely to an industry of English teachers for students who are learning it as a second language. It differs in nature from conventional teaching, and varies in different parts of the world. Being an international endeavour, TEFL has no overreaching governing body or standardisation organisation. Along with TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages) TEFL is a popular acronym involving certification and teaching of English as a second language (ESL).

Rival institutes offer certification that follows a similar one-month, full-time, intensive instruction. Aside from TEFL International, some others include CELTA and Trinity. Recruiters treat differing TEFL certifications with varying degrees of respect. Education departments in each country set their own minimum requires (usually a general degree) for licencing teachers. Ultimately a well trained TEFL teacher from a respectable course will perform best when interviewed and tested in a classroom situation.
